Jack Random (aka Ray Miller) has lived on both sides of the divide separating traditional society from the counter culture. He has walked the streets in protest, haunted jazz town bars, read poetry in cafes and public squares, mourned at Wounded Knee, peered into the eyes of the crow at Grand Canyon, paid tribute at the grave of Geronimo, and crisscrossed the country by air, rail, highway and thumb. He has labored on the assembly line, in the fields of plenty and attempted to enlighten children in the public schools. He has been a journeyman and a pilgrim. All the while he has chronicled his thoughts and revelations in words: plays, poetry, novels, stories and essays. His is a voice of the lost and found generation – lost to history but found within the cracks of an enduring underground. Now retired, he is free to devote more time to writing, publishing, golf and other endeavors of personal and professional interest.
He is the author of Washichu: The Killing Spirit (Crow Dog Press), Ghost Dance Insurrection (Dry Bones Press, Crow Dog Press), Number Nine: The Adventures of Jake Jones and Ruby Daulton (Crow Dog), A Patriot Dirge, Pawns to Players: The Stairway Scandal, A Match for the White House, The Putin Gambit (Crow Dog), The Grand Canyon Zen Golf Tour - A Memoir, Hard Times: The Wrath of an Angry God, D'Arc Underground & Other Plays, Aphrodite House & Other Plays and the Jazzman Chronicles Volumes 1-10 (Crow Dog Press).
