Jacqueline was stricken with necrotizing fasciitis in 1994 after surgery related to the C-section performed during the birth of her twins. Despite being deathly ill, with all of the classic symptoms of NF, her doctor misdiagnosed her with the flu.
Jacqueline went on to co-found the National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation (www.nnff.org) in May of 1997, and has dedicated her life to making meaningful and measurable strides in the diagnosis and treatment of necrotizing fasciitis. Along with her co-founder, Donna Batdorff, NNFF has grown to be the world’s leading resource for those who have suffered or lost loved ones from this vicious infection. She is a frequent guest speaker regarding NF, and is considered the “go to” lay authority worldwide.
Jacqueline is celebrated by those who know her as a strong, independent woman, the quintessential survivor. She has overcome tremendous tragedy in her life, yet has rebounded time and time again with her unbreakable spirit and passion for life. She literally lights up a room with self-confidence and inner joy. Jacqueline’s personal journey is a profound story, and she is currently working on her memoirs to empower other women to discover the depths of their own personal strengths, to trust their own intuition, and to believe unwaveringly in themselves, against all odds.
Jacqueline has three sons who are the light of her life, Vincent, 28, and twins Alex and Ricardo, 26. She is an avid scuba diver, and loves to cook, write, and travel.
