John Coburn was born into a family that eventually grew to seven brothers, eight sisters, and fifty-four nieces and nephews (one hundred and four in the next generation). They were raised in Hawaii, with all but one graduating from the same small high school in the quaint village of Kahuku, on the island of Oahu. His family is a true cosmopolitan mix of races, cultures, languages, careers, and history, giving John a wealth of experience to draw on and an imagination to match. He initially began his writing career with McGraw-Hill Publishing in the field of Mathematics, but his love of family and the joy and laughter they shared grew very strong over the years. He hopes that you will share this exuberance in these stories.
