Julie Rogers was born into a family of artists. After studying music at Interlochen Arts Academy, she migrated to philosophy and law, becoming a lawyer for the federal government. After a long career in tax litigation, she moved into the publishing realm, editing the journal European Taxation and the IBFD’s International Tax Glossary. But her mind continued to seek out those imaginative and open areas of her early artistic and philosophical interests. She developed a passion for speculative fiction, devouring books like The Road, Handmaid’s Tale and Station Eleven. When her reading list started to dwindle, she began to write her own stories. Julie lives near Toronto with her patient and talented husband Sky and their four children. Her first novel, The Rain Belongs Here, is being released November 1, 2019.
