Kate Curry was born on May 29, 1961 and grew up in Delaware County. She became a nurse, but when her son was diagnosed with Autism she changed careers. She started to work with children on the spectrum and found new perspective. For the better part of her son's education she navigated and advocated to find that appropriate education. Kate also worked to spread awareness with her son. Campaigning for the CDC's Learn the Signs Early initiative, and inside the school system. There was failure and great success, and the chances taken tell the story.
