Meara O'Hara was born in Germany and currently lives in Vienna, Austria. Her first book - a memoir of her childhood in a cult and her subsequent escape from it - was released in 2020 under the Frabjous Press imprint.

She holds a degree in archaeology and is currently studying English and psychology at the University of Vienna. She has backpacked through 27 countries (so far) and her greatest passion lies in exploring, learning and understanding the world and the people around her.

She has stated that some of her most creative writing was done during nightshifts as a hostel manager.
