Patrick Baker has been a children's librarian for 14 years and is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Patrick also holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University.
Patrick wrote his first book “My Father is in Prison” to address the issue of how mass Incarceration effects the children of those imprisoned.
As a child, Patrick experienced the silence and hurt surrounding the incarceration of a family member, and he has also worked with many children experiencing similar secrecy and unspoken pain.. Patrick currently lives in Washington, DC where he works in the District of Columbia Public Schools and continues to write. Patrick plans to release a series of children’s books that address other social issue with the goal of sparking honest conversation about the issues and promote healing.
