Dr. Carla Fry BIO:
Dr. Carla Fry was born in Western Canada and grew up appreciating the clean air and great outdoors of the Rocky Mountains, Pacific Ocean and wide open prairies. She was inspired toward a life of action and meaning by many strong family members, many of whom were women of atypical character.
Dr. Fry spent more time in figure skating arenas in skates than in shoes as a youth. Her career working with children began with her first job as a teen teaching skating to young hockey players and figure skaters.
Carla was fortunate enough to be exposed to the field of psychology at the tender ager of 13 by an innovative grade school teacher. Since that time she’s been an avid ‘people watcher’ and has had the privilege as a Psychologist, of helping thousands of children, youth and adults to ‘maximize their happy’ (a Dr. Carla-ism).
Positive Psychology’s research and applications are woven in to all her writing, speaking, consulting and treatment bits. She lives thankfulness as much as she spreads it and is grateful for the smell of fresh cut grass, her kids, popcorn and warm tropical trade winds in the evening (in no particular order!)
Dr. Lisa Ferrari BIO:
Dr. Lisa Ferrari lives in what she calls the jewel of the Pacific Northwest, Vancouver, British Columbia. Born and raised in this city that she loves provides a home base for her work as a clinical psychologist.
She comes from a large close-knit family that spans the globe. It’s this family that planted the seeds for growing her passion to help children and parents strengthen their family bonds.
Dr. Ferrari balances her thriving psychology practice with teaching as a professor in graduate counselling psychology programs; and by sharing her expertise when called upon by television media, professional groups and local organizations.
Lisa delights in the beaches, cuisine and tradition of her Mediterranean roots. She loves to travel and spend time with her large family and vast network of childhood friends. Gratitude runs deep in her veins whether the topic of conversation is black tea, her sweet little girl, her adopted rescue dog or projects that foster resiliency in children and families.
