Sharon Bowles, a native New Yorker, has been writing in one form or another since college. After an eclectic work history, (she was editor of the county-wide newspaper the Arkansas Sun, Legislative Information Officer for the Arkansas Senate, Assistant Director of the Arkansas Endowment for the Humanities and owner of a jewelry company specializing in hand-crafted jewelry from Mexico, Indonesia, Israel and the U.S.), she decided to form her own freelance writing business. She writes anything required for online sites and marketing campaigns, including web content, blogs with an emphasis on law, press releases, newsletters and more.
Several years ago she began pursuing her lifelong interest in animals and conservation by becoming a docent at the Little Rock Zoo. There she handles a variety of educational animals – from ferrets and opossums to bull pythons, bearded dragons and birds of prey teaching visitors and the community about species survival and the wonders of nature.
One day she sat down and wrote a children’s book about Bobby, a blue-footed booby who got bullied, a story that had been on her mind for years having witnessed unrelenting school bullying of a handicapped classmate in elementary school.
She is currently working on a sequel.
