Vicki Michela Garlock is the founder of Faith Seeker Kids and has served as the Nurture Coordinator and Curriculum Developer at Jubilee! Community Church, in Asheville, NC, since 2008. Prior to that, she was a Psychology Professor at a small liberal arts college for over a decade, offering courses related to neuroscience, cross-cultural psychology, and cognitive development in children.
Vicki is particularly interested in how children from around the world learn about and live into their faith. She has amassed a broad collection of children’s stories from various religious traditions. She regularly attends religious holidays, rituals, and ceremonies. And, she enjoys aligning her work with her knowledge of cognitive development. She published the 4-volume Peace unit of her interfaith curriculum for kids in 2018 and 2019 and her first interfaith children's book, We All Have Sacred Spaces, in 2020. She is currently working on Embracing Peace, a volume of peace-related kids’ stories from the world’s faith traditions.
Vicki is an editor for Multicultural Kid Blogs, wrote almost 40 articles for The Interfaith Observer, and gives sermons and talks around the country. In her “spare” time, she enjoys exercising, yoga, playing the djembe, practicing Tae Kwon Do, and watching her two young adult kids grow up.
