Virginia Burton Stringer (Ginny) was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in the small town of Mathews, VA. Her childhood on her grandparent's farm on the North River allowed her to develop a rich imagination. In fact, Grandpa Kris and Grandma Polly are fashioned after her grandparents. Ginny attended high school and college in Richmond, VA. Virginia Commonwealth University drama school prepared her for forty-plus years as professional actor, director, high school drama teacher, and now writer. She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in biology from UNC Charlotte. She is a published playwright as well as author of the Maagy Book Series. Her one act play “Can You Hear Them Crying?”, Pioneer Drama, has earned critical acclaim and has been republished in three other formats for Holocaust education. She began this labor of love as a series novelist in 2004 when an empty nest gave her plenty of time to ponder the wonders of raising female children. Having raised a son and two daughters, Ginny is well acquainted with the arduous journey girls embark upon when puberty begins. This experience is the inspiration for the impetuous Princess Maagy. Virginia and husband Bill reside in St. Petersburg, FL. with Charlie the cat.
