Well written, touching, powerful story. It's insight into what happens to the soul when being locked up, so tragic. An intriguing story of a young man's transformation. This is a page turner.

Such a powerful story. The author's words created such a clear picture, I could have been there. I didn't want it to end, and still don't. Please write a follow up story to this!

I'm a writer and I appreciate what goes into a dark raw story. It's not easy to write, it take courage to go to certain places. You need to go to these places to paint a real picture; let the story flow. I was immersed in this book from the start. Mike is a fearless writer. We need more of that. This isn't a pretty story or a happy story, it's a real story. Great Job, man.

Goodreads

This short story is written by a very special writer with the ability to transport the reader inside the lead character and I couldn't put it down.
I just wish it was longer; the best story I have read for many years. Everyone should read this.
Another review here for 3 stars! What? Did they read it? This is not average writing.
My advice would be to change the title as the subheading makes it sound like a non-fiction text, rather than a story.

This short story makes us look at the life of an inmate in a different light. I enjoyed the way this was written. Hopefully the conclusion will open peoples' eyes to the reality of prison life.
