Not just for princesses ;)

This is a great book! I don't want to spoil it, but the main characters are relatable on a level. I love that this book is about a princess without being a "princess-y" theme. It's about exploring, understanding others, learning, and sacrificing. It's a quick and easy read. I'm hoping for more from this author.

I have heard this line before, and I may have even said it . . . I just can’t put this book down . . . A Princess in Disguise is one of those books. The storyline is captivating and took me in unexpected directions, the descriptions of the characters are so well done that I was able to visualize each character from head to toe, the illustrations at the beginning of the chapters set the stage for what was to come, and when I finished reading the book, my mind remained in the storyline, dreaming of what may come and longing for this author to write more.

This review is from: A Princess in Disguise (Paperback)
I loved this book! It was an easy read and quite enjoyable. It would appear to be a young person’s book on the surface but the content is rich with life lessons, choices, some misunderstandings along the way and special friendships with an unpredictable ending waiting for you in the final chapters. I was reminded that our perceptions are often quite different from reality. A book for all ages!

This is a well-detailed novel, and Margaret is an inquisitive and caring character. It is a quick read, and some things wrap up a bit too neatly because of the short nature of the book. Certain plot points tend to drag on for longer than necessary.
Princess Margaret and her sisters are quickly approaching their 16th birthdays. This is when their father, the king, will announce who he has arranged for them to marry. Unlike her sisters, Margaret is not as eager to comply, and she decides to take matters into her own hands. She is determined to find her mother, who left years ago. She meets Huntley, who is willing to help her in her quest. Margaret’s trip will involve far more risk than she ever anticipated, but it will also cause her to see others who are not as fortunate as her in a new light. Will she find her mother, or will she be forced to return to the palace to marry a complete stranger? (IGUANA, Aug., 92 pp., $12.99)
