American Public, attention please: Survival Skills for USMLEs and Medical Licensing in the United States
This book is to help foreign medical doctors who immigrate to the US legally to return to practice medicine via medical licensing. This book explains in very details all the steps and important issues to help foreign medical doctors to start their saga of medical licensing on their own with DIY- Do It Yourself fashion. Further into the purpose of this book, I would like to address directly that via the way I explain the extraordinary work that USFMDs (US citizen foreign Medical Doctors) have to go through this tough process of medical licensing; they have paid very high prices to earn the ECFMG certificate. However, they are currently terribly mistreated. This book is to reveal the true painful and heartbreaking story how USFMDs have been buried alive for the last six decades since 1956, the establishment of ECFMG, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. USFMDs, especially the ones who graduated and left medical schools over three or more years are of terribly unjust. They are left in the cold and the dark and unable to return to practice medicine even they have gone through the great challenges on their own by this DIY process, and have proved their qualifications and capability to be great physicians for the American public. This is against our Constitutional statute about American equality of rights to pursue happiness; it is against our prototypical American culture of work hard-pay off. USFMDs have been ripped off their rights in this new homeland. They have struggled valiantly to find freedom and settle down in this "land of the free and home of the brave", they deserve justice! This is a big loss for the American public when they are not aware of the hidden treasure as free gifts these foreign medical doctors bring to the US with their saga to search for civilized freedom. This is the true story that should be told to every American. Healthcare is a human right; as a result, practicing medicine is also a right for healthcare professionals!
