An Elegy of Fate is a twisted tale of when Destiny goes horribly, horribly wrong. Mokallai is Destiny: the dilapidated, desperate personage of the binding power of Fate. He wants nothing more than to return to his former glory; to relive the old days where his every desire came true. In fact, it was an extremely clever move, when Mokallai possessed Yonanthael. It made the most sense, because Mokallai was weak, and Dyiij's love for Yonathael ensured that she wouldn't outright kill him, although she was well aware Yonathael was possessed. This bought Mokallai enough time to come into the lives of Arlen and Sara; enough time to to destroy two nations; enough time to recuperate, and exercise what power he had. It was clear that he was irresistible, and his success was assured - until Dyiij offered one man and his friend, Rollond and Ashenzsi, a choice: they could either succumb to fate, or allow her to work on their behalf, and in turn serve as the foundation for the means she intends to implement to stop Mokallai. However, Dyiij didn't plan to stop Mokallai right then and there. Neither did she tell them what would happen if they accepted. As the dichotomy of Freedom and Fate begin to collide the question becomes: Who can escape their destiny?
