Family Life, It’s Complicated… A tale of family, and INDIVIDUAL transformation in Modern America…

The puppy is housebroken.

And that’s a start, a start… that’s definitely better… The puppy’s at home now too. The puppy doesn’t whine, yowl or howl anymore, which is more than can be said of the rest of Eric’s self-made family.

But reality, reality… Eric’s house just won’t sell. And it needs to sell… it must sell, because Eric’s other house has been dumped, that house has been dumped by the Ex as the Ex has become: self-centered, ego centric, selfish; a maniac.

And Eric’s house needs to sell because it looks like it’s time to start over. And Eric must start over…

For a few minutes there, Eric stopped breathing as sometime before he lost the love in his life, and sometime before he lost his four-legged “Little Man”, Ziggy; sometime before all of that went down, Eric gained a brain tumor and that tumor just about killed him. But Eric’s breathing again and back in the land of the living. And the living are hard to believe, just hard to believe… and the living drive him nuts.

Nuts…

And while Eric’s life unraveled and his health… and heart and head came apart, those friends, all sorts of Friends, engaged in increasingly odd behavior… very odd behavior at that. A special friend, a BFF even, got married to a step something. Oh yeah… she married a step something…

And while Eric is post-surgery, learning to walk, and see, and be again – while Eric is getting on with life, the Ex is being… a maniac.

And there’s more… Others… all those OTHERS… friends…

Nuts…

Those Friends are infuriating… Family’s worse… and some of these friends are both. But compared to those Friends, compared to… all of that madness, what’s Eric’s antidote?

Well… that’s Freud… that’s the puppy.

And hey… at least he’s housetrained.
