Animated Stills: Poetic Pareidolia
Thomas G Reischel, author
This is not an ordinary poetry book. This book is an “Inspiration of Life” from photographs. The concept is Animated Stills engaging the reader using pareidolia. Like faces in a cloud, or Jesus’ face in a piece of toast.
I believe that photography and poetry go together well. One form paints a visual picture, while the other creates a poetic image. Together, the synergy becomes very powerful. This book contains both, with a twist –a hidden reveal. As a photographer, I take pictures. As a Poet, this sparks my imagination, my Muse, to poetically interpret that “something” into action. I write about it, and ask the readers if they see it too. Now, let me ask you this. How many poetry books have you ever read that contain beautiful, full page color photographs? None. This is something different. In additiion, it draws the reader in as a participant, to see if they see what I see.
Here is an additional aspect. I just don't write poetry in a single style. It is not just free verse, or quatrains, or simple stanzas. This book contains 75 original photographs taken by the author himself, with 75 original poems written in 52 poetic formats. I explain those formats in simple language, giving the reader a depth beyond just reading words.
