Nor did the mother of Jimmy Massey have any clue as to why her own Jimmy, a simple taxi-driver, got killed along with the priest in Cairns Cathedral that Easter. But the mother of Jimmy Massey did know it was Dr Valentino Sebastian who kept sniffing around her gated-community’s chapel and, while she mightn’t be aware of what this man or whatever could do with birthings at will, she was keenly aware that Sebastian was sniffing around there because of the child visited upon her womb. And then, no matter what all the police and all the investigators and all the nosey-parkers might say, she could see the black shore in her mind as clear as day; she could hear the nearing howling. And the mother of Jimmy Massey knew this as sure as she was surely blessed: Sebastian and that black shore would never be the death of her. She didn’t need any hullabaloo surrounding the girl’s predictions regarding some ancient temple inscription to know that.
