After spending most of my life as a psychologist, I took up wildlife photography. In the jungles of Africa, Brazil, wild lives guided me across the threshold of human limitation to the force that blossoms flowers—from which we came and to which we return. Sitting around a nighttime campfire in Zambia, my breath merged with the sounds of crickets and frogs. The eerie whoop of hyenas mixed with the deep reverberating moans of lions calling to each other. Out of the clutter and grasping of our culture, under the sliver of the moon, I connected to something elemental.
