Are you discouraged or, perhaps, depressed because life has taken over and the dreams and plans you had are lost? At times like this, our minds can become muddled and it is difficult to clearly think and plan again. In this book, Andreas provides motivation through Scripture and true stories.
Each chapter provides a step toward bringing our minds back to what God wants us to be. I highly recommend this book to those who want to begin or return to boldly living out your God-given dreams.
Better Days Ahead is a book that will motivate you in your faith and motivate you towards your goals for happiness. The book is full of positivity and really inspired me when I was reading it. For those who are not religious but are okay with reading religious books, I think this is still useful for those trying to find their journey. The Christian God did a lot of inspirational things that can still help a non-Christian. This book helped me dig deeper into the meaning of my life and it helped me think a lot more of my goals than before. I like books that make me more self-aware and mindful, So I recommend this one.
Normally, self-help books aren't the first thing I reach for, unless it applies to a specific problem that has loomed up. But this one I enjoyed far more than I expected. There's a lot of great advice phrased in a simple, easy to absorb style, never devolving into the health-and-wealth interpretation of the Gospel, but emphasize aligning one's dreams with God's will and seeing the fulfillment of those dreams, big or small. In choosing examples to flesh out his points, the author draws on more than just the Bible for his cases, but also history, biography and even some pop culture (dare I say, I spotted a stealthy Game of Thrones reference!). He offers his encouragement in ways that transcend Christian denominations; any Christian -- Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Protestant -- will likely find plenty of food for thought and words of encouragement.
I myself may have achieved some of my own dreams (getting published, having a story of mine appear in an anthology that's now under consideration for a literary award), but I found things in this book that have already helped me keep striving onward and upwards. The journaling exercises offered halfway through each chapter are easy and intriguing, asking yourself the questions that you need to ask yourself.
If you're a Christian seeking some words of wisdom and encouragement to buoy up your resolve on your way to self-fulfillment, this is well worth picking up and reading!
