A man with no memories is falling (or is it flying?) through an endless mist. One voice alongside him says this is the last free space in a cruel world of suffering and slavery, another that it's a self-imposed prison from a beautiful world of wonder and adventure. He chooses which one to believe and begins a journey that includes many dangers and temptations, in which he will discover both himself and deeper truths about the world outside.
