The book’s characters are all animals indigenous to the Galapagos Islands. Bobby, the Blue-Footed Booby, is a young bird who recently moved to a new home there. His concerns and fears about going to a new school are realized when he meets a bull named Sally the Lightfoot Crab and is treated with cruelty because he waddles when he walks. Delores the ancient Tortoise teaches all the “kids” that bullying is wrong and what they should do in the event of being bullied or seeing someone bullied.
