CONSISTENTLY INVENTIVE…MARVELOUSLY CREATIVE – KIRKUS REVIEWS
A richly detailed historical novel and rollicking adventure that spans the Paris of today and 1944, the London Blitz, D-Day and the bloody hedgerow fighting of the Allied breakout from Normandy in World War II along with unforgettable characters like Churchill, Patton, Ernie Pyle and even Lady Di. With the help of time-traveling commandos, Charley Montgomery discovers the terrible secret behind the mysterious disappearance of his wife and a deeper understanding of personal sacrifice in a time of war.
As a dedicated fan of Bernard Cornwell, Robert Harris and M.M. Kaye, I am a little picky about historical fiction. However, if you are a WWII buff, as I am, with an interest in D-Day and the battle for Normandy, this is a great read. It is a quirky, exciting adventure with a mind-bending twist and a message about personal sacrifice in wartime that resonated with me.
