Boy Hero is the fictional story of Mr. Hai Lee, a Taiwan mango grower who has always been deeply troubled by experiences he had as a ten-year-old boy during World War II. He longs for peace and serenity. Hai Lee's grandson Curtis, an orphan and a delinquent, arrives to live wiith him with problems of his own. Boy Hero is a timeless tale with a surprising and climactic ending. Its main themes are the struggle to come to terms with one's identity, the bondage of guilt, and the elusiveness and power of redemption.
