It was the recipe for Chaos. Ramecia, the most prosperous and powerful kingdom in the world was ready to elect a new leader. On the one side was a seasoned candidate who had experienced politics on every level and served all the way up to the world stage and more than a few skeletons in her closet. On the other were a handful of flawed hopefuls who quickly get upstaged by a rich egotistical, misogynistic blow-hard with absolutely no political experience. \tMost everyone in Ramecia is certain that the long-standing politician, the Cliché, will be the first woman elected to the lofty position of Prime Minister. In fact, she is doing everything in her power, whether legal or not, to make that happen. Despite what the other side hoped, the Jester, a narcissistic merchant, quickly became their popular choice. \tThe Jester finds that the more he insults and badgers people the more the public likes him. Leaving turmoil and mayhem in his wake he uses rare and expensive Chirp birds while sitting in his gilded outhouse to send out much of his venom. Catering to a segment of the population that feels slighted by the current system and adding a little illegal help from a not so friendly rival kingdom, the Jester storms toward the election. \tWhen the election occurs will the Jester’s brand of havoc work or will the people decide to choose an experienced politician, even if she is a woman with a sordid past? \tButt of the Joke is a satirical look at politics in the mythical land of Ramecia.
