I know what I am seeing. Other’s see what I am seeing. So why is my mind so questionable? Its’ all right here, but it’s all so crazy!
Lisa’s brother Lenny left their hometown after graduation, never to return to the slower life of the Midwest. Living in Las Vegas, distance kept him from the gatherings the rest of the family was accustomed to. Yes, there were great trips to Vegas, and his trips home, but it is now evident it wasn’t enough.
As he shared his photos online one day they sent random unwanted thoughts through his sister’s mind. Then a sunset, and her thoughts, all signs of truth, her brother took his life. Afterwards she asked for a sign from God of eternal life for her brother, receiving flowers later that day; flowers from Heaven. It also became apparent it was only the beginning of many mystical happenings she would experience.
The mind can take control, things become overwhelming, and our sanity is questioned. Where do you go when things become so unbelievable you question your mind; when you are no longer in control of your every movement, your every thought, brought on by the continued messages and signs from your request to God?
It’s a journey; an incredible journey; through death, faith, uncertainty, spirit and healing. Needing to talk to someone, but whom; wanting confirmation, is this all real? The hearts, cards, butterflies, the many numbers, and then the unknown; all of it!

Captured by the Holy Spirit by Lisa Leikam is described by the writer as a memoir, and is a series of events and life experiences as related by her. The writer also looks at signs that she has received throughout, which are more than coincidences, and which have had a significant effect on her life and how she has interpreted them. The book relates chronologically incidents that have been memorable and in some cases life changing. She searches for justification and reasoning behind the events that have occurred, and takes the reader on a life journey that is filled with fear of the unknown, eventual understanding, and ultimately peace.
This is more than just a piece of work by an author. This memoir relates a number of emotions that come across in the writing, and the author successfully takes the reader on not just a life journey but a spiritual journey also. The style of writing flows well so that one section naturally leads on to the next and the reader is swept into the text and left with a compulsion to keep reading. Lisa opens her heart in this book and her personal experiences evoke both emotion and a feeling of her own determination to understand and overcome. In some ways, it is a quest to find peace, which is successfully conveyed. The writing is not too deep or overpowering in spiritual text and the way the story reflects on real life incidents enables the reader to consider and reflect on their own life journey.
