Business owner Dakota Jennings makes the Grinch look like a saint as he shuts down the holiday spirit at the mall sending the residents of the Durango, Colorado into chaos. This sleepy little Christmas town doesn't know what hit it. The community launches all out war against the tyrant, to no avail until Mayor Talbot wields a secret weapon aimed for Dakota's heart. I can’t say enough about this book, I haven’t seen a book like this in a long time. It’s a great Christmas story, spun to a modern tale. A tale of love, good for the whole family. Dakota is a scrooge style character with a great story. Renee is the love of his life, the love we sometimes miss. It’s a real “wonderful life” evolving story that shows some great things About the human spirit and Christmas spirit. A real heartwarming tale.
A modern day take on the Grinch, Christmas Conundrum is a romantic holiday tale for the whole family. When Dakota decides to be a scrooge the town must quickly act to keep him from ruining the holidays. As in any classic holiday tale, the only way to defeat a scrooge is to open their heart. Christmas Conundrum is a cross between "Its a Wonderful Life" and "The Grinch that Stole Christmas" making for an entertaining start to the holiday season.
It may be hard to imagine love blooming at the Durango Mall, but Texas novelist Jaspira Noel has set her novella Christmas Conundrum in the world of a Durango-born corporate Scrooge. Durango’s mayor brings in a secret weapon, the hero’s lost love, to usher back in some Christmas spirit.
The book, she said, is a combination of It’s a Wonderful Life and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. “Durango is Christmas magic for a fiction author,” said Noel, whose name makes her ideal for writing a holiday novel. “What appealed to me about Durango was the beautiful winter surroundings and the quaint old-fashioned charm of a city in a bygone era.”
