Coffee monsters
Your childhood monsters have something to say to you. Violetta Swan, the most famous and most purple toymaker in the world, brushed off the dust and washed off the grime and repaired the ones that you left behind. She took care of them while you were away, growing up in grown-up land. And now, they are ready to speak, from within their wishblown worlds, even if it is without words. The Patchwork Patchworm will tell you all about the dream world he saw while you were dreaming (dreams within dreams). And he knows a way to stop a heart from breaking. Rex the Marionettist will teach you how to talk to inanimate objects (it’s often more useful than talking to animate ones). Nettle Notorious is a tear catcher, and if you’ve ever cried, you may have wondered why diamonds fall out of your eyes. He can explain all of that, especially if you visit one of the faerie gardens or the abandoned amusement park. And Finnegan (a monster fly) will exquisitely lecture about the art of worrying from a dollhouse. There are many more things that they have to teach and tell, but I must warn you, there are some things that you might not want to hear. For there is white magic, which is quite pure, and there is black magic, which one cannot see through at all. But even if you fear what you might hear, I must assure you that it is all worth hearing. Take Flora the Flower Picker for instance. She wants nothing more than to turn into a flower. Sure, she’s malicious and selfish and not terribly good looking, but she knows an awful lot about nature. And there’s the Scarecrow King who scares things and has a deep dark secret, but ultimately, just wants to be free, which is really difficult when the Hedgehog King keeps jabbing his ginormous quills into his flesh all the time. But perhaps, the strangest thing of all is the fact that these monsters aren’t so much like monsters after all. These monsters are very much like humans. Very much like you and I.
