Wendy is a harried college girl caring for her orphaned younger brother. After an allergy trial gone horribly wrong, Wendy finds herself possessing super-senses and unable to touch people without killing them. She turns to energy healers for help, only to learn that they may be more interested in her shocking ability than in curing her. With nowhere else to turn, however, she befriends and falls in love with Gabe, one of the people working for the Healers. He claims to have only her best interests in mind; but when he accurately predicts that Wendy is capable of seeing a strange world of color that no one else can, Wendy fears not even Gabe can be trusted.
