Moments later he sees a lone figure dressed in a black cloak. They his a loud thump as the Land Rover connects. Stopping, he finds the carcass of a badger, not a man. Years later he would publish a book called the Ghosts of Mendip and include these experiences. A few days later the Park Ranger assists in the rescue of a group of post-graduate students, who are trapped underground by torrential rain while exploring a cave system beneath the village of Priddy. One of the cavers discovers a mosaic on the floor of a chamber, exposed by the storm water. It depicts Post-Roman soldiers battling against the invading Saxons. However, they are using a cannon; something history will not take place until 1346. Is this some elaborate hoax or and an anomaly in the historical timeline? Years later, that same caver, now an archeology professor at Bristol University, excavates a tomb thought to be that of King Arthur, near the town of Amesbury, Wiltshire. However, the skeleton he finds is dated to the 21st-century, and the accompanying sword, believed to be Excalibur, is made of chrome-plated steel. A true conundrum; another anomaly in history, or another hoax? In 2004, a visitor to the Stonehenge replica at Maryhill, Washingon, USA mysteriously disappeared while he is standing in the middle, surrounded by strobing light. Events lead to the discovery that this is the same man entombed at Amesbury. The time traveler's daughter begins a quest to find out what happened and uncovers the name her father adopted in the 6th-century.
