PJ Carpenter and his colleagues at the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center are not surprised when al Qaeda releases a statement praising Sadiq bin Aziz and the Bringer of Death for the horrific attacks in the American heartland. While Carpenter hunts the perpetrators of those attacks, Aziz sets in motion his ambitious plans to seize control of the global jihad movement. It soon becomes clear that the recent attacks in Minnesota were only a first step for Aziz. Capitalizing on his rising status with the believers, Aziz employs a devious scheme that undermines al Qaeda and clears the path for his own terror organization. Within days, Aziz’s newly-minted terror group carries out a rapid sequence of attacks throughout the West. As Carpenter and his colleagues desperately seek intelligence on Aziz’s new terror network, they realize Aziz is planning a strike that would upend world order. The target is a gathering of world leaders in The Hague and, once again, Aziz will call on Mumeet—the Bringer of Death—to lead the operation. With only hours before the conference begins, Carpenter has a narrow window to foil the attack and finally settle his score with the Bringer of Death.
