An invasion threat. A guardian to rescue. One 17-year-old boy alone to save them all. A boy who questions his past and his sanity.
Seventeen-year-old Kallum Farron is no hero. He wants nothing more than to win the heart of the girl he loves and lead a normal life in the city of Levitor. But, after a simulation test unexpectedly leaves him reeling and he loses his guardian, he fears he is turning into his worst nightmare –a Crazy. He starts another apprenticeship and discovers that he is no Levitorian. Instead, he is one of the Aeternas, an alien race that travels through portals to different worlds. With such a powerful legacy—the ability to open portals—he alone can save Levitor and find the device that can fix the aetherium, Levitor’s sole energy source. But his cursed legacy comes at a cost. Kallum can do more than open portals: he can travel through time, an ability coveted by the Aeternas. Hunted by his own race and Levitor’s rulers, he finds himself on the run and must choose what is really worth sacrificing for the greater good.
Cursed Legacy is not just a sci-fi, it's also fantasy, adventure, action, and dystopian.
This is a cross between sci-fi and fantasy as well as a coming of age story. It is reminiscent of stories like Firefly and Ender's Game. The author's world building is wonderful.
I had a hard time putting this book down!
Kallum is the kind of hero you can get behind. He isn’t perfect, but he is pure and good.
This is an excellent beginning to a series and I am looking forward to the next book.
Some books grab you from the first sentence and never let up. The emotional range in this story is amazing.
