Davenport's Florida Wills and Estate Planning Legal Forms: Second Edition
Alex Russell, author

Adult; Other Nonfiction; (Market)

The book "Davenport's Florida Wills And Estate Planning Legal Forms" is part of a 50-State series being done using the publisher Davenport name for people to look for.  Each book is carefully written to have a concise summary of law (readable without skimming unlike similar books), and a good range of ready-to-use legal forms with helpful filled-out samples.  The book's subject is Wills and Estate Planning law and forms which concern how to act now to control upon later illness, death, or absence things like health care, end-of-life stopping all treatment, gifting property and money, children, allowing efficient legal options, funeral, and sharing power with someone trusted to do things to help.  Forms in books include Wills, Gift List, Health Care Declaration, Living Will, Do-Not-Rescitate, Financial Power of Attorney, Parent Power Of Attorney, Funeral Instruction form, and several more forms.  In each state the book and forms are specially written for that 1 state, and this is required since most forms are specific state forms and generic forms will be rejected by doctors, schools, and some courts (so Florida book explains Florida law then has the 11 specific Florida forms, the Texas book explains different Texas law then has the 10 specific Texas forms, and so on).  Note, these books are a side-project by some lawyers trying to help since most adults have not done Wills and Estate Planning documents (a shocking 70%) despite benefits to be had, apparently because people think going to a lawyer for this will take months of visits with lots to remember causing stress and work, cost $1000s per person each time with forms redone often over a lifetime, and require dealing with a lawyer who many fear or dislike. To help it should be easy for forms to be photocopied from the book's normal 8x11.5 pages (books are for sale at near printing-cost of $6), and also book and forms can be downloaded free (at www.davenportpress.org) before or after reading a book.  In future book and forms will be updated if needed, and additional new lawyers and retired judges may be involved.  It is sincerely thought these books will fill a gap and greatly help people (and organizations trying to help people), and with support of librarians and book sellers it is hoped these books will become a "standard reference book" for Wills and Estate Planning in each state for people to start with.  WWW.DAVENPORTPRESS.ORG
