Armed with a kitchen knife and a compass, Sassa fights man, nature, myth, and the most dreadful enemy of all: herself. No creature can wound like guilt and loneliness. No enemy is more formidable as those spawned from one’s own mind. To bring her loved one back from death, Sassa must travel across a land where men walk alongside legends, and abominations hide beneath the ice. In this land, death is not the worst of fates when one possesses a truth so terrible it can drive its bearer to the verge of utter madness.
