Dispatches from the Dating Zone
KT Valentine, author

Adult; Romance; (Market)

Having exhausted all the conventional ways to meet her ‘Mr Right’ (and because now she really is a little bit desperate), Fleur Summers turns to her well-meaning, but eccentric friends and family for help. From ‘Man Mountain’; an engineer who eats everything in sight and tall dark handsome Tom with big hands but no idea how to use them, to the mysterious and brooding Henry Austin. Follow the trials and tribulations of Fleur’s journey as she works her way through a number of eventful blind dates, all in the name of finding true love. Dispatches from the Dating Zone is the racy romantic comedy debut novel from KT Valentine

There are so many reasons why I loved this book, first of all it's set in England so my inner anglophile was totally delighted, I even had to use my Kindle's dictionary to figure out some of the slang terms. Now I know what a chav is! And as the title suggests, it's full of dating nightmare stories, which seem to be universal because I've experienced several of those nightmares myself. Uggghh.

The main character, Fleur Summers, is a dear, I could totally relate to her when it comes to body issues and wanting to find the right man, though I know nothing about being a single mother. In this story Fleur tries to kick start her love life by asking friends and family to set her up on blind dates. Though they mean well, each person is focused on one category (wealth, character, looks, etc) but she wants the whole package! Fleur is looking for love, passion, stability and the well being of her son and every single woman out there knows, it ain't easy!

When I finished this book it was with a big contented sigh. Totally awesome debut novel from KT Valentine, can't wait to read more from her!
