****YA Urban Fantasy**** Have you ever noticed how life can shift all of sudden? You’re going along thinking everything is great and then WHAM, you get hit by a bus. Well, maybe not a literal bus, but you get what I mean, right? I’m talking about that moment in time when everything changes and life as you know it comes to a crashing halt. My name is Abigail Freeman and for me, that moment came on my sixteenth birthday. It wasn't anything so dramatic as getting hit by a bus. In fact, it was so subtle, I didn’t even recognize it for what it was. Not until later could I look back and say that was the moment my life changed forever.

Kyra Dune does not disappoint. This is a fun YA story set in the modern age but with fantasy elements. The dragons are not typical fantasy dragons, so don't go in expecting them and you'll enjoy the story more. Chapter 1 starts slow, but things pick up fast. This is only the beginning of the story, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

The story was good. This is geared towards the young adult readers. The 16 yr old girl we meet in the book, Abby seems like a normal girl, who is just turning 16. She seems to have a normal life, family & friends around her. She sees someone who seems to be following her. Is this someone she can trust? Or someone who might be after her for something?? She does find out she's not 'normal' from the guy whose been watching her. But can she believe what he says? Can she trust him??

I purchased this ebook at a launch I just stumbled upon one day; a freebie came with it. While it is described as book one I found it more to be a long introduction. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the read. Dragon Within is written in typical teenage language, complete with feelings and reactions that fit the situation. It moved along nicely, without hiccups, and was an easy read. As to the story itself ... it has an interesting twist with the development of the characters and the story-line. I thought it was an ideal YA read if one likes fantasy. Even though the indicator gives it three stars I really would give it another half.
