A Ferguson tractor tells how she was almost sold for scrap before being saved and restored. A scholarly mole overhears her ruminations, writes them down, and Ferguson becomes an advice columnist who adds her "selected Ruminations" to the last half of the book. This tale is an allegory for becoming a godly person.
