Health is your wealth. We spend a lifetime engaging in nutrition and eating, yet few stumble upon its ambrosian secrets. Sally exemplifies a commonsense approach to nutrition and habitual eating that can possibly save your life or, at the least, tack on some happier years to it.
When she was 15, the author treated the cause of her blemishes/pimples thru dieting instead of topically treating the blemishes themselves, which are only symptoms of an internal issue. This single experience shows a realization of the inferior, allopathic medicinal approach adopted by the West for profiteering.
Every individual has the potential to become their own homeopathic doctor, and this book is a good step towards discovering that independence. Sally, with a jovial vibe befitting of her lifestyle, outlines types of fad diets, antoxidants and nutrients, explains bad and good fats (with aid of a hilarious cartoon story), foods you should and shouldn’t eat, and how to develop or be aware of healthy habits (such as eating in leisure rather than in a rush). One idea I liked in particular was bringing a small bag of snacks and condiments along with you when you eat out (easier for a woman with a purse than a man to do tho). I personally take spring-filled water bottles too, just to avoid the MSG and fluoride laced drinks at restaurants. She also included a list of wholesome exercise activities to accentuate a healthier diet and happier life. Most importantly, she covers complex and life-changing material using sweet, short, and simple language.
PS as for my background, I am an athletic vegan (so under the "dairy" section I recommend adding homemade almond milk! Also lactose free) and have read nutritional books from the ageless Annete Larkins and the semi-mythical man who cured all diseases, Dr. Sebi.
