From the moment I opened this book I couldn't put it down. This book tells a very interesting story about family generational curses, breaking through adversity and following your dreams. If you are looking for a book to help you stay positive throughout difficult situations, this is the one!
I love when a writer makes me feel like they're speaking directly to me. I could totally relate to his family because we all have those members in our own family. Dennis is a wonderful writer and I look forward to more of his work.
I felt like this was a good read it was very personal and there were a lot of senrios I feel many can relate too. While reading the book I often felt as though I was having a conversation with the author about life. I recommend this book to any gay man struggling with life and trying to figure out what to do next. It will show you there are a lot of down points in life but also something great waiting for you at the next turn of life!

(Phoenix, Arizona) Dennis Huffington has worked hard to develop his own niche and channel. Setting and having goals are a way of life for the young media maven. In the last few years, Huffington has written best-selling books, attending black-tie media events, interviewed celebrities and began the development of a successful web media channel. His drive and ambition propelled him to take chances, improvise where necessary, and overcome challenges. According to Huffington, this ambition was a result of being forced to start over from scratch many times and dealing with tragedies in his life.
“Albert Einstein once said that adversity is what introduces a man to himself,” says Huffington. “I love that quote because it’s absolutely true. How we deal with adversity and what we take from it teaches us who we are. Every test, challenge, and even every loss plants a seed within us that will grow into amazing things if we water it.”
Dennis was still a young man when he moved alone from the New York City area to St. Louis, Missouri. He says that for a while he was incredibly unhappy with the move. According to Huffington, St. Louis was country and city at the same time. People prided themselves on speaking to one another and being courteous, yet everyone heard about murders and violence on a daily basis. He was unable to catch up and fit in, and spent of lot of time questioning his move. He says it wasn’t until September 11, 2001 and watching the Twin Towers fall from afar that he began to reconsider life and come to an understanding of all the marvelous possibilities that come with challenges.
“From Scratch is about starting over,” he explains. “It’s meant to be an inspirational book for people who want that brass ring but don’t believe they are in a place where they can get it. When I left the New York City area all I could think of was getting back. Fast forward to today and I’m happy and successful here in Arizona. What we think we need isn’t always what we need. I want my book to help people realize that there are opportunities out there for them if they just forget what they think they know or want and embrace the circumstances they are in.”
Today, Dennis Huffington is a bestselling author, blogger, multimedia producer, and entrepreneur. In 2016, he founded Enter Media, LLC in order to publish his first book series entitled, From Scratch. The series is meant to walk readers through his journey to become a media mogul, chronicling every step of the way. Book one of the series, a memoir subtitled Inheritance was a success with readers and became an Amazon bestseller in multiple categories, peaking in the Top 100 for e-books, Top 20 for memoirs, and reaching a peak of #5 for LGBT memoirs. He will be in Miami at the Miami International Book Fair on November 18th 2017 where he will also be giving out free copies of his first two books.
“My books are written to encourage, inspire, and empower others through the lessons I’ve learned and the experiences I’ve had,” says Huffington. “Everyone who reads my books will take away something inspirational and feel better about facing the world.”
