Sportswriter Scott Findle’s life is turned upside-down wading through a set of bizarre circumstances and comical occurrences which have hijacked a World Series between the Red Sox and the Cubs with just one game left to play. As he grapples with the oddities of his professional duties, he also struggles to keep his personal life in the base path. His former best friend, the famous writer Fig O’Leary, has re-entered his life, as has his ex-wife who now works as a consultant for a presidential candidate in the final days of the campaign. Neither the Series nor the election can survive without the other, and as America’s two great passions converge – sports and politics – Scott finds himself in the middle of the intersection, precariously weaving traffic from all directions.
