Gifting Your Child: a Foundation in Math
This book is an extract of all the Math and Science out of the previous book ("Gifting Your Child: Math and Literacy from Infancy"). This book does away with the discussions of the techniques that could be used to interact with children at the infancy level. This book takes the premise that the child is able to read, comprehend and verbalize the basic numbers 0 through 9, and takes it from there. It then evolves into a book that covers a wide progressive array of concepts in the areas of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, coordinate geometry and general science that will serve your child for many school years to come. Obtaining this information from several sources would prove to be problematic, but it's all available here, in this one volume.

Gifting Your Child

A Foundation in Math

Gifting Your Child: A Foundation in Math, is a comprehensive work by multi-talented author and publisher, Kerman Bharucha.

Review:

With the intent to introduce fundamental science and mathematical ideas, Mr. Bharucha sets out to offer students of all ages the information needed to build a solid “foundation in math.” True to its title, GYC is a work that focuses on assisting parents and teachers with the task of strengthening developmental learning concepts. Beginning with the introduction of numerical progression, Mr. Bharucha then strategically moves the reader through a series of subject matter that is structured to reinforce the previous lessons. A straightforward tone narrates the beginning stages of instruction, keeping the dialogue conversational, serving well those who are homeschooling or students who are engaging in general skill practice.

There are summation sections provided in order to support and direct instructors to reinforce certain concepts which is very useful when working with young students. Mr. Bharucha does a great job of reiterating the pace of which to move on to the next concept, reminding you to remain true to your/the students own learning style, which is a very receptive and insightful principle to convey. As Mr. Bharucha moves on to more difficult notions there are valuable quick-tips listed that prove practical in learning the specified material. These tips are especially helpful when learning an expansive topic such as math or science as they are able to help the student quickly access formulation rules. Mantras like “multiplication is shorthand for repeated addition” aid the parent or teacher in introducing faster ways of approaching the solution to intricate problems, inherently strengthening the internal abilities of students as they engage in their daily practice. In combination with the written mathematical facts, the tools Mr. Bharucha provides manufactures an instructional work that achieves his goal of laying a formidable groundwork in mathematical studies.

As the text progresses, it is apparent that Mr. Bharucha has spent years perfecting his teaching methods as the context flourishes into a guided logic. Introducing thoughts such as the Balance Concept, while offering detailed explanations of substantiated formulas, students and readers are taught using realistic and relatable methods. The text was even proficient in offering someone who has been out of mathematical practice for some time a great fresher during her reading! Although there may be similar products on the market, the passion Mr. Bharucha has for the subject and for the education of his grandchildren is undeniable in his effort to “gift” all students a foundation in math.
