Glenfiddich Inn is set in WWI-ear Boston, New york, and Scotland. It embraces stock scams, love affairs, the emergence of Babe Ruth, a naive simpleton, as America's first sports hero—and throughout is the struggle to keep the country out of the disastrous "Great War." A central theme is the early days of experimentation in a new technology—wireless audio transmissions. Its proponents called it "radio." Two of the female characters are certain of its ability to connect the world in ways never before imagined—despite the skeptics who couldn't imagine how it could ever be relevant.
