I love the mix of research and actionable tips in Gratitude & Kindness. As a new parent, it is my mission to raise our son in an environment of kindness to ensure his success and happiness in life. Having done quite a bit of research myself in this arena, I realize how important it is to set good examples at an early age and their engaging anecdotes combined with practical exercises makes for a great read and good set of guidelines for all parents. --David Gaz, Director of the Film, Kindness Is Contagious

Here's a book you'll be dying to hand out to all the helicopter parents at the playground. Vancouver's Dr. Carla Fry and Dr. Lisa Ferrari have published a wake-up call to the epidemic of entitle-mania; in the new generation of kids. With practical solutions and specific examples (stop paying your kid $50 to wash the car!) the Doctors are direct and to the point about how giving in to your kids every whim is short term gain for long term pain. They teach that there is a positive feedback loop between kindness and happiness, and that grateful children are kind children, and we can all be happy about that.

Book Trailer: Gratitude and Kindness: A Modern Parents Guide to Raising Children

Join Dr. Carla Fry and Dr. Lisa Ferrari, Clinical Psychologists and authors of Gratitude and Kindness: A Modern Parents Guide to Raising Children in an Era of Entitlement, as they introduce you to these simple yet complex concepts and why they decided that they mattered enough to write a book about gratitude and kindness.

Drs. Fry and Ferrari introduce you to their style of mixing scientific research with experience gleaned in their clinics and from their own research and interviews with families. They share some entitlement-crushing / entitlement boosting tidbits in this trailer and give you a snapshot of why they believe the qualities of gratitude and kindness - and the nurturing of these qualities in our children and in our families - are key in positive and compassionate change locally, nationally and internationally.

The authors are Directors at the Real Parenting Lab and the Vancouver Psychology Centre as well.

CTV's THE SOCIAL Welcomes Dr. Carla Fry + Dr. Lisa Ferrari to speak about their

Psychologists Dr. Lisa Ferrari and Dr. Carla Fry [a.k.a. Real Parenting Lab] unveil their book ~ Gratitude and Kindness: A Modern Parents Guide to Raising Children in an Era of Entitlement ~ and join the amazing ladies of CTV's THE SOCIAL for a fun & engaging interview.

Traci Melchor & Melissa Grelo put us through our paces in front of a live audience at ctv studios. We were pleased to send all the audience members home with a brand new shiny book .. not quite Oprah's-style of sending them home with a brand new shiny car .. but they seemed pretty pleased anyway  :)

Take a view if you care about crushing the #wantwantwant, rehabilitating entitlement-enhancing family systems or re-training spoiled-encouraging parenting (sorry if that sounds like psycho-babble - but that's the real deal of what the issues are - it's not the fault of the kids .. kids are not born spoiled).

We cordially invite you to change the world with us .. one family at a time  :)

Enjoy,
