The action develops on the impregnable Granite Mountain, where our hero, Spark, lives, and in the flowering Lemon Drop Valley, where the daughter of the King of the Granite Mountain, Stella, finds herself turned into Yushka by the evil dwarf Zhabrey. Spark throws a dress that he made of lapis lazuli to her foot steps. Accidentally, Spark overhears the King's conversation with his Vizier. His Majesty promises to give the crown to the one who will return his daughter, Princess Stella to him, and discloses the whereabouts of a secret path to Lemon Drop Valley. The Vizier ipledges to save the Princess. But Spark gets ahead of him and identifies the bewitched Princess in the crowd of Yushkas by a dress from lapis lazuli. However, with the capture of Zhabreya, Spark suffers one fiasco after another. Zhabrey is sly. He uses the magic machine Aboo Kaboom to give Stella another appearance, and sends a carnivorous Volchak to the Lemon Drop Valley. Volchak pursues Stella, and lets her fall into the crevice at the foot of the Granite Mountain. Not recognizing his daughter in Yushka, the King takes part in her recovery, orders her to be placed in a cage and assigns further care to Spark. Princess-Yushka suffers in captivity. Spark the Stone Man is the second book of the first series about the discovery of Lemon Drop Valley’s secret dwellers. Characterized by incredible anime–influenced illustrations of high artistic quality and daring, imaginative action–oriented characters and plot twists, Spark the Stone Man takes the young readers further into the strange fantasy world of Lemon Drop Valley, where all is not so well as it might seem. Spark the Stone Man ends with a cliffhanger invitation to read the next installment as soon as it is available (after this volume has been read 18 times by the fans). Spark the Stone Man is an inventive, embroidered chapter fantasy tale that will keep the interest of middle school age to elementary age children.”
