It is awesome when someone can be both author and illustrator for the book that becomes the finished product. Mrs. Feldman handles both attributes with ease, and her colorful illustrations of Hermann, the Tortoise, enhance the very cute story line. Children from ages 4 to 8 years will delight in the adventures that Hermann encounters throughout the book.
The author also includes some informational pages at the end, explaining to the readers various facts about Tortoises. When I finished reading the book I was left with one main thought. Is there going to be a sequel about this adorable animal? The ending definitely leaves it wide open for Hermann to have another adventure with his newfound friends and family. Mrs. Feldman has made her debut into the world of childrenʼs picture storybooks with a true winner.
