"I loved this novel for its lack of contrivance and insightful prose. I always think this genre is a bit hit and miss with novels ranging from the exceptional to the damn right awful. Hiatus is without a doubt exceptional. The narrative is a joy to read and one to be savoured as little by little we are drawn into the lives of Michael and Frank. In many ways they are unconventional characters, but they are so well depicted that they could be neighbours. The story itself is bitter sweet with highs and lows and one of the best books I have had the pleasure of reading this year."
“A beautiful and compelling read, Hiatus affirms Tarazona's ability to pen original and thought provoking novels.”
"A truly effective tear-jerker, HIATUS is a powerful tragic love story with deeply complex characters and resonant themes."
"Tarazona handles Frank and Michael's love and its effect on everyone around them honestly and with care, transcending her novel beyond just a mere gay romance. Hiatus will resonant with readers who understand opportunities lost, the importance of embracing those we love, and the preciousness of time."
