My 6 year old twins was saying r as w. I bought this book as she did not qualify for speech yet based on age. This book has greatly improved the sound!!! I saw immediate progress and she would still use w sound in conversation, slowly the correct sound became more frequent in use and now after about 4 1/2 months she mostly uses the correct sound! Very infrequent to use the w as an r. Thanks so much. Would recommend to anyone whose child substitutes a " w" for the "r". Mine could not make the sound in isolation when we began.

I purchased this book to help my 5 year old son with his r sound. I had talked with the school speech therapist who said he may outgrow it. I wanted to help any way I could so i started researching. I found this book and thought it was worth a try. The lessons were very easy and he didn't seem to mind them at all. After about lesson 11 my husband and I could see a huge improvement. I was honestly surprised how quickly it helped him. Once he started thinking about how to make the sound correctly he really exaggerated his r for a couple of weeks and then after that it just came natural. I am so glad we worked on it at a young age before it was harder to correct

So far so good! My insurance only cover speech delays. This book has my child making the correct r sound. Has great practice lessons that give step by step detail.

Half way through this book, my 8 year old niece could pronounce every R like a champ! She was a little too old and too smart for some of the lessons and the "rewards" part of the book (giving treats for getting it right, etc.) but the choices of exercises and words to master the types of Rs were genius. Speech impediments should be nipped in the bud. I wish I bought this years earlier.

This book actually lays out a lesson plan on how to teach your child to pronounce his "r"'s. I am most grateful. The step by step instructions make teaching this sound easy. My son for the first time is making his "r" sounds. I would recommend this book to everyone.
