Hypnosis: A Return to the Past
MARCUS BELING is a renowned hypnotizer who practices hypnosis and Past Life Regression for many years. One day a young woman named ANNE PAULINE ROUX comes into his office. However, Anne Pauline has a secret that will shake Marcus Belling’s convictions. After a few sessions, she will come across another hypnotizer who is a major rival of Belling called JOSEF SALVATERRA, who will try to use the young lady’s unique power – which only comes into action during her hypnotic trance – to promote his own professional career. With the helpful information supplied by his spy ROLLAND ULM, who has been spying Belling’s office for years, Salvaterra becomes aware of Anne Pauline’s power to interact with a selection of people from her past and, most importantly, to change events that have occurred. With the help of the shoemaker THADDEUS BORBA, whose workshop is on the same street as the famous hypnotizer’s office, Anne Pauline will finally discover that the most sacred things on Earth should be protected and preserved. This same idea will be transmitted by the intervention of famous physician and alchemist PARACELSUS in the action, as the true formula for transmutation of metals into gold will turn out as a metaphor for life: inner change generates transformation as a whole. The book itself is a session of hypnosis with its reader. As the history unfolds, whoever sets on its path will be invited to write down the codes which will also take one to discover the true identity of Anne Pauline. This script for Hypnosis: A Return to the Past pretends, as a whole, to be a dynamic and interactive action with those who accept to take on this journey!
Reviews
Christian Sia for Readers' Favorite Award

"This is an intriguing story about hypnosis, a novel with an unusual plot and characters that are exceptionally complex. There is something mysteriously disturbing about Anne and the effect she has on the self-controlled,level-headed hypnotist.
Maria Inês Rebelo is a great storyteller and I loved how this author makes readers connect with the characters. The narrative has strong psychological underpinnings and a conflict that allows the characters to evolve through the story.
I read on, wanting to see what happens between Marcus and his enemy Josef.Josef is a very ambitious character and this is something that drives him to envy and the desire to hurt a renowned peer. The tension is strong and the story moves fast with scenes that are focused and skillfully written"
