In the Name of the Father

"In The Name Of The Father" is an inspirational novel about faith, family, and the power of forgiveness. As a man of God, husband and father, Lester was supposed to be his daughter's hero, instead he became the man she despised, and she could not move on until she forgave him.

“This is a story I had to tell because I know we have difficulties throughout life that shape how we love ourselves and others. It is so important that we stop pretending life is perfect and shed light on painful issues like divorce, infidelity and abuse.”

“I hope this family's drama, pain, faith and triumph reminds you that we are all human, and as a result not perfect, but forgiven by God.”

“Let's forgive more, love more and share stories that will inspire others to try again.”

This book is a must read!!! I could not put it down. Not only was it a great fiction book, but the spiritual messages/meaning were powerful. I am sure if you read this book, there will be characters you will be able to connect with personally. Allyson was able to capture the audience in her writing with the ability to provide a 3-dimensional perspective about family, relationships, and a spiritual connection to God. It was great to see the author have characters that were flawed even though they were religious and spiritual, which allowed the reader to imagine being Joy, Angel, Lester, or any of the other characters. The book captivated my attention from the beginning. WELL DONE!!! What are you waiting for- get your book today!!!

This debut novel chronicles the emotional and spiritual growth of the heroine, Joy, in a way that is relatable to the reader. This quick read will evoke conversation and debate, do I let go or do I hold on. The author vividly tells a story of a family whose faith is tested from a unique perspective. I enjoyed reading In The Name of The Father. With elemental styles reminiscent of Bridgette Jones' Diary and James Baldwin's Go Tell It On The Mountain, this book is hard to put down. I highly recommend this work for book club discussion.

This book was so good, I ended up reading it in a week. I love stories that incorporate God in them, because reading books like this some times provides a word for someone in need like myself. So good job Allyson, I'll be waiting on the next one!

Excellent work. The book held my attention until the end...in fact, I couldn't put it down. I love that the reality of the pain was acknowledged and that the application of God's Word was shown. I felt the emotions of each character and felt as if I was going through the journey with them. Again, excellent read.
