Adult; General Fiction (including literary and historical); (Market)

SYNOPSIS OF ISSUES BY SHARON ST. JOHN James Michael Frazier is an unscrupulous man who is using his charm and good looks to get what he wants most in life—money--without having to work for it. He has no loyalty to anyone but himself and will do anything to achieve his goal. He uses different variations of his name to accomplish his mission. He goes by James, Mike and Jay, to swindle, steal, and, ultimately, commit murder. His plan was to get as much money as he could from everyone he came in contact with when he moved from Brooklyn to Nassau County, Long Island in New York. While using the name James, he was able to seduce Jessica Tyler, a young, Senior Accountant in a top Nassau County accounting firm. Jessica currently lives in a house with her mother and younger sister. Jessica wholeheartedly believes that love will conquer all and she is willing to financially support her man in the name of love. Jessica is also struggling with whether to move out on her own with the love of her life, James, leaving her mother and sister to support themselves financially. Jessica’s secretary and friend, Charmaine Dupree, while younger than Jessica, aspires to be as accomplished as she assumes Jessica to be. Charmaine can’t seem to move past a prior relationship until she meets Mike at a club. Mike uses his charm and quick wit to break down the walls she had built for herself to work his way into her heart and home. Charmaine was once best friends with Desire Williams, but the friendship had become estranged when Desire met and fell in love with Jay. Jay manipulated her into believing that she didn’t need her family and friends around as long as she had him in her life. Desire was at the top of her game and making a lot of money until she started having children with Jay and he decided to leave her and the boys. Desire wound up living in the same shelter with her boys where Jessica’s sister works. Jay managed to convince Desire that he still loved her and the boys and claimed he found them a place to live if she gave him the cash deposit for the apartment. Jay moved her and their sons into the apartment of his male lover, and now murder victim. After committing the murder of his male lover, James Michael Frazier grew desperate and realized he needed to leave the state immediately. And he needed money, fast! He took Charmaine’s car, jewelry and all the money in her bank account, then he stole all the money and jewelry he could find in Jessica’s room. Meanwhile, while Desire was being booked into jail for trespassing in the murdered man’s apartment, Jessica and Charmaine were both at the precinct filing formal charges against the man they both loved and trusted. After some conversations, the ladies all realize their prince charming has the same last name, and is, in fact, the same man. Because none of the ladies had a photo of James Michael Frazier, he was able to leave the state of New York bound for Georgia...
